Spring Break and A Frozen Heart

I hope you had a great spring break! I had plenty of time to catch up on my reading and that is always my hope for time off. During the big blizzard my power went out. I felt like my house had turned into Arendelle and Elsa had frozen me in. So with a warm blanket and a cup of tea I snuggled into my chair to read.
The story is told in a 2 person point of view, alternating in the voice of Anna and Hans. It was very nice to be able to hear the backstory of the two different sides. With the alternating stories there is a depth to the story that the movie just can't capture. I did miss the songs and had to rewatch the movie after the book just so I could hear the trolls sing. This was a quick read. It wasn't groundbreaking or deep thinking it was pure fun. If you are looking for a light hearted read with some fun charter insights, this is the book for you.

More March Reading Dying to Meet You

I'm finding a lot of time to read lately. I'm using the overdrive library app on my phone to borrow audiobooks from the library. This lets me "read" while I'm at the gym or walking the 1/2 mile loop.

So I read a book that was recommended to me by a student. The book is 43 Old Cemetery Road Dying to Meet You by Kate Klise. This is the story of a young boy and his best friend, who just happens to be a ghost. When a grumpy writer rents the house for the summer the young boy and his ghost must learn to look past the grumpy outside and befriend the renter or force the renter out.  With wonderful names like Frank N. Beans or I.B. Grumply how can this not be a fun read?
"..be kind to each other. Other people's feelings are as real as you."
Isn't that a great little blurb? Being kind is so important. This was a truly fun read for anyone.

Race The Wild March 2016

This is my first book post. I will try to do a post every month to let you know what I'm reading and what I like. Remember, what I like might be very different than what you like. If you have any suggestions for my bookshelf blog please let me know!!

Russell is excited to join a race that travels the entire world!! Even though he doesn't know his teammates he knows that he will be able to do his best to win. When he gets to the first leg of the race, the Amazon, he has to wonder is he really prepared for this amazing race? Will his team be able to work together to not only survive this dangerous game but also to win?

I really enjoyed the creature features. It was fun to learn about animals that are indigenous to the area. I love the idea of a scavenger hunt with clues and pictures. This is a fun read for anyone who has ever had to step outside of your comfort zone.
